A rare
boat with beautiful classical lines.
As there are only 5 of her design and no information to be had on
internet, here is a brief
history on her design.
Lady Anne dates back to the 1930's and was based on a Sparkman and Stephens design, probably the Islander/Hinkley 30 see link
ISLANDER 30 (HINCKLEY-1940) sailboat specifications and details on sailboatdata.com
.
Originally built out of
wood and was used for
racing and weekend cruising. In the 1940's the Beaty Brothers bought her and later when she was on her last leg, as they enjoy her design so much, they made a mould out of her from which they built five fibreglass boats. Our
hull is #5.
She is a beauty with classical lines, on which we get many compliments, and which makes sailing her a real pleasure, Solid design and construction makes her
seaworthy, which she has proven many a time in heavy
weather.
She has just returned from a 2 month
charter in
Belize so she is ready to go!!!!
