Prout Event 34 - Blue Water Family Cat

I am sad to announce the (very) reluctant sale of our home and world cruising catamaran the s/v Wendy Ellen. A new baby on the way and a wife who needs a break from long crossings has forced our hand.

She is currently in Fiji having sailed across the Pacific last year. We sailed her around Mexico for two years before that and originally she came from England via the Caribbean (not by me)... so she's well proven as a true blue water cruiser.

What is a Prout?
Check them out. A Prout is really in a category of it's own. It's a sturdy (read heavy) hand laid FB hull (almost 1/2" in places!) with a sterling reputation for safety. This is a family boat. A Winnebago. The parents get a full (house size) queen bed in the main salon and the kids can choose from 3 (boat-sized) double berths. Large head. Fridge and freezer. Gas range and oven. HUGE water storage capacity (500 liters).

What a Prout is not: A light fast racing catamaran.

She's powered by a Yanmar 3GM-30 which has been lovingly looked after. The sails are in fine shape and I have extras. I have heaps of spares and all of the tools and gear for every kind of repair. Fully new standing rigging in 2011/12. Basically you are walking into a turn-key cruiser.

She's currently registered as an Australian boat. She has not been imported into Oz. Our plan was to head west to S.E Asia. Could be perfect for someone who wants to sail westward or play in the Pacific for a few seasons... or a Kiwi... or an Aussie who is is willing to pay import.

I'm heading to Fiji to get our stuff off the boat and take some better pictures and write up a full inventory in a couple of weeks, but in the mean time you can see plenty of pics on our blog:
The s/v Wendy Ellen is For Sale! | Sequoia Gypsy

Will be asking for offers around $100k (Australian)

When you have the new photos, I would be interested in viewing them please.
If you would be so kind as to email them to me, I would appreciate it.
