Re: New Assym Spinnaker for 50ft. boat

The kite is still in the bag from original time of purchase over 3 years ago. It was flown once in less than 10 kts of breeze.
It has been storied in my heated basement and not kept on the boat which I have now sold and thus the reason I am selling the sail.
It was designed and built by Neal Pryde here in CT.
Red white and blue no other markings......just looks like a regular kite.
Until recently I have been a two boat owner and kept the kite thinking I would never sell my ketch.
Have several pics taken on the boat the only time it was flown if you are interested.
The sail is crisp and smells like new.
Anyone interested can inspect it prior to purchase.
You can private contact me and I will be happy to forward pics at your request.
ciao

.better convert out of AUD.....so $400USD is my next incremental bid...unless the auction is silent? via PM? Please advise.

Sounds like a nice rag to be sure...

Do I have to bid in USD, or can I convert to the currency of my choice to make it sound better...

43,225 Rubles???

If this is an auction like e-bay there is supposed to be an ending date and time. I'd bid 401in USD but I haven't even found my boat yet.

Problem is the rules state:
''
Ads MUST include asking price and location
Any ads posted in the General Classified section must include the asking price and location. If they are not included, your ad may be deleted without notice."

But then folks around here aren't really sticklers for rules.
Not saying that's a bad thing, just sayen'.

Wahaaa???

We are SUPERRULESTICKLERS ... er... sometimes..
But not when part of the stickler police are participating in a bidding war...

OK... I'll confer with the rest of the team, but I think if there was a minimum acceptable price STATED by caradow the OP... then it might be OK...

I'm the leader at 450USD, or 43,225 rubles

Re: New Assym Spinnaker for 50ft. boat

Well sorry for the confusion and I certainly don't want to piss anyone off...especially the mods.
Just put it up on the forum at the spur of the moment when I realized it was still sitting in my basement. Never read the rules.
So apparently I have to have a price and location????
OK so the first $1600 takes it, I will leave it for a month and if I don't get that then it will go to the highest bid. The sail is located in Connecticut.
After all it has been in my basement for the last few years so another month won't matter. Also I could donate the sail and use it as a tax right off I guess if the bidding stays low.
Also it comes with a sock and launching bag.
Will be happy to send pics if anyone wants to send me their email via private message.
I am leaving next week for a little sailing and will be back middle of March. Also heading back down in April to bring my boat back up to the East Coast otherwise will be available.
Ciao

You definitely didn't piss anybody off... To the contrary, several thumbs up could make this our first "provisional" auction test...

Consensus was that a minimum price had to be listed, and a DEFINITE end date had to be listed...

ALSO... we were thinking that the item couldn't be listed elswhere for sale... There's no way for anybody to check multiple listings...

First $1600 negates the "auction style"

Let us know what you think, and if you want to keep the auction, or simply list it for $1600...

Re: New Assym Spinnaker for 50ft. boat

Thanks for the clarification....don't buy stuff on ebay so really don't know how it works.
Will not sell it for any lower than $1600 at least till the end of March.
Not listed anywhere else other than word of mouth. However will put a notice up on the bulletin board of my yacht club and I have told some friends who are sailmakers.
This is a new sail that cost $3300.00
Don't think I am being unrealistic regarding price.
