Nautical Charts (paper, circumnavigation)

NAUTICAL CHARTS — 109 NEW, COLOR, Full-Size Paper Nautical Charts, printed at 300 dpi (very clear images) on Thick, High-Quality paper. By New, I mean, printed in 2015 and never used. All of the charts necessary for a circumnavigation of the world from the Gulf Coast of the United States to Panama, across the Pacific, then to New Zealand, then up the eastern coast of Australia, through the Torres Strait, across the Indian Ocean to Durban South Africa, Around South Africa to Capetown, and up the Atlantic Ocean to St. Helena and Ascension Islands, then on to the Caribbean, and eventually up to New York City. These charts have been carefully folded and all together, make a stack that is approximately 15” X 19” X 12” tall and weighs 38 lbs. When you purchase these charts, they will be carefully packed in a heavy-duty cardboard box and separated and sealed in large plastic bags by region of the world. Buyer will pay for actual shipping and handling charges and insurance (if the buyer does not want to assume the risk of damage during transit). I am selling these charts and switching to electronic charts for primary as well as back-up because I have discovered that they simply take up too much precious storage space on my tiny Contessa 26 sailboat. These charts will only be sold as a single package. These charts retail for $16 each. There are 109 charts total. To have this many high-quality, color paper charts, it would cost you $1744 to purchased them from a retailer. My price for all of these charts is $1000 (that’s 57% of the cost of purchasing them new from a retailer). Feel free to make me an offer if you’d like. If someone doesn’t take me up on this good deal, I might be calling you to let you know that you can have them for your offer, if you’re still interested. Thank you for reading my posting.

If interested in purchase, you may contact:

Below, is a list of all the charts offered for sale. The chart number is followed by the name of the chart, the scale of the chart, the size of the chart, and then the type of paper of the chart.
H = Very High-Quality Water-Resistant Heavy-Weight Paper (feels almost like card stock). As you can see from the list, the vast majority of the charts are printed on this type of paper.
M = High-Quality Water-Resistant Medium-Weight Paper (this stuff feels thicker than typing paper. Not a thin, cheap paper, but not a really heavy paper either).
(2) = there are two copies of this chart.

Re: Nautical Charts (paper, circumnavigation)

I had to grin reading your add. I cruised for 2 years in the Pacific in a Contessa, and chart stowage was a major issue. There were no electronic charts back then so I had no options. I would recommend keeping a dozen or so of the overall charts just in case you get wet electronics in your aptly described "Tiny Contessa". I had a great cruise and the Contessa sailed like a dream. Best of luck to you. ____Grant.

Re: Nautical Charts (paper, circumnavigation)

Ridgeway.. no way. I live in Ophir, but am currently on my sailboat in SE asia.

BTW there are certain parts of that trip that paper has its advantages and is more accuarate.
