Big Mistake! Get rid of her and be a free Man! My lady already knows who gets deep six'd if ever the question comes up. Chances are she will dump you after you sell your boat anyway for not standing up for yourself.

With all due respect to your situation, which may have its roots in issues beyond living on the boat, have you asked her why it has come to this fairly inconvenient choice? Usually, the partner who feels the least comfortable in the boat life has the lesser amount of experience, and this makes things nervous for them, relying on the more "seamanlike" partner.

Have you tried selling the GF? If you can get more for the boat, then the GF must be cheap.

I guess it depends on the sailor as to how much pleasure one can get out of one or the other.
