For Sale: Monitor wind vane for sale

This Monitor wind vane has less than 100 hours of total use. It was removed from my former Alberg 35. In excellent condition, comes with three vanes and mounting hardware. Located in SF Bay area, California. $2,500

Hi ,how many years old have this wind vane ? and which type the iron inox is .Because starting 2006 Monitor change the kind of stel used .the previous one was more rigid and developped cracks and fissures .

This Monitor is older than 2006. There are no signs of cracks or other damage, generally it appears near new condition.

Thanks for your quickly answer .I going to check the year in which Monitor change the steel .Antway with the serial number you could write to Monitor manufactirer and receive all the information .

I believe that the stainless steel change was actually made way back in 1997, though whilst ours is a '97 unit, it must've been made in 96, or steel still in stock from then. We've had no crack/fracture problems, but it does rust more than the newer units.

You can get the year from the unit number - it'll be etched into the upper, forward cross-tube - the last two numbers being the year it was first sold/left the factory

What boat was this mounted on previously? Just trying to get a feel for what would be required to retrofit it on our IP40 (flat transom).

Alberg 35 with reverse slope transom

Unless you have a very unusual A35, it is a regular rather than reverse transom. A "reverse transom" is a more modern style, borne out of racing rules I believe, with the flat part pointing towards the sky, rather than the traditional one with the flat pointing towards the water.
