Aloha Cheechako,
This is not meant as criticism but just a pet peeve of mine. I live in Hawaii so I'm sensitive to the comment "USA Lower 48" especially since USPS Priority Flat rate boxes are so darned cheap. I can see where you would want to be restrictive for items like anchors or engines or transmissions.

Sorry for the rant.

My experiences here have included needing a very small part for Craftsman lawn tractor which costs about $30. They want $35 for shipping. Same for small boat parts. There are some catalogs I don't shop because they just can't stick something in a USPS box they need to send it UPS. I refuse to use Annapolis or any other marine supplier that will not ship USPS Flat rate. Some companies are great and some don't care.

Again, apologies. Yes, the weather is nice. The politics, marine services and the shipping costs are not.
