Re: Max-Prop Auto Feathering Propeller

I'm interested in prop. If prop is off boat, can you video while it's in a vice, you turning the blades for us to judge how easy they turn. The video on the Max-Prop web site is sample of what I'm trying to see.

How sensitive is the prop operation to getting fouled with weed growth and barnecles. If my current prop fouls to a slight degree in 2-3 months, does it make sense to you to go to this kind of prop.

Re: Max-Prop Auto Feathering Propeller

If I have done this correctly, attached are two pictures of the prop in pieces. I would rather not reassemble it. All pieces are there (with the exception of the zinc) and I have the manual. It works fine.

As far as growth attaching to the prop, it is bronze and will behave the same as any other prop. It always grew some barnicles and weeds where I am located but that never seemed to affect performance as far as I can tell.

A nice feature of a feathering prop such as the Max-Prop is that it automatically sets the angle for forward or reverse. Back up handling was always very good.

I have a two blade maxprop. The best thing I ever put on the boat as it replaced the original Volvo folding prop.

It fouls a lot, just like any prop. Performance is definitely hit when fouled.
