Re: Mainsail and lazy bag, and other items

What is on the luff of the mainsail - bolt rope, slugs, batt cars?

Re: Mainsail and lazy bag, and other items

The luff has regular nylon sliders which slide up the mast slot. The foot is loose footed with a traveller at the clew so you can ease or tighten the sail as needed. It is a very strongly made sail in 10 oz Dacron and the bag is of course zipped, with a front cover to go round the mast.

Any pics of the sail up and drawing? What type of boat was it on and how much use has it had?

Good questions....I find this info to be most helpful when considering such purchases.

How much do you want for the sail only?

Re: Mainsail and Lazy Bag - and other items

Would like current pics of the mainsail...based on the other items for sale and pricing, I need to see what "first class condition" is equated to. Thanks..

Re: Mainsail and Lazy Bag - and other items

these are all fair comments:
To Mattyc and DD. Sorry I don't have any shots of the sail pulling. It was made in 2005 at a cost of $4300 - I have the receipt. I don't think it has done much work, because the boat was idle for a year or two before we bought it a year ago and we have never used the main in the Florida intercoastal. The best I can do is take a picture of the sail on the front lawn because it is now in my garage. I will post it on my website and let you know.
Sea Dancer V: I don't think I want to sell the sail separately because I might get stuck with the lazy bag alone. They were built as a combination and I've had a few inquiries for the complete system.
The sole reason for sale is that we are re-rigging my Down East 45 to in-mast furling.
