A clean boat for sure! Could you summarize what the Mahe Evolution has vs. this 2009 model? I know its the stylized cockpit hardtop with integral helm seat but what else?

Re: Mahe 36 Catamaran -2009

RKsailsolo,

This 2009 model has a hard Bimini over the cockpit and also a hard Bimini over the helm which I added.

The 2009 model has the large rounded corners and real wood furniture.

The evolution model uses square corners and harder edges with dark laminate. No more real wood inside. Fridge was moved under the nav station.

The evolution bimini with the molded in seat actually blocks the view to the cockpit and port stern sugar scoop. Most owners did no like that change.

Re: Mahe 36 Catamaran -2009

I have never seen any boat maintained to this standard. Everything looks like new... good for the next owner.

And I agree with your views on the Evolution changes. Your bimini modification is highly preferrable over the ugly Evolution model, plus from what I have seen so far the old "real wood" seems to hold up better than the processed wood laminate they use now.

Maybe I can add some context:
I am quite sure that the one in Spain sold fo 104k is one that was sold with a bunch of problems. Had been sitting at the dock unused for longer periods and sold with significant ongoing osmosis below the waterline (and no warranty). This price is not reflecting a normal boat condition.

The one sold in St Maarten for 139500 is afaik an ex-charter boat that already looked worn when I was there (I think in 2011). And it has been on the market ever since.

The one in UK was used for extended cruising and liveaboard by older folks. Lots of upgrades but everything homebrewn / DIY.

Bottom line is: There are many boats on the market cheaper than yours, but you get what you pay for.

Good luck for the sale and your move to the next boat.

Re: Mahe 36 Catamaran -2009

Thanks rabbi for your kind words.

Yes, there are a lot of charter boats with thousands of hours on the engines and there are lots of boats that are just poorly maintained.

We take great care of our boat and it shows.

Even our dock is setup for a nice soft landing.

Re: Mahe 36 Catamaran -2009

Beautiful boat. I would love to buy it, but I'm not ready yet. Can you hold on to it for a few more years in such mint condition?
When you upgrade will you stay with FP? I've loved all your reviews and posts. They have been helpful as I begin my research.
