I put my own together

Amazon.com: California Air Tools CAT-1610A Ultra Quiet and Oil-Free 1.0 Hp 1.6-Gallon Aluminum Tank Air Compressor: Home Improvement

Super, super quiet aircompressor, honestly can barely tell it's on, unlike the horribly loud "vibrators" I'm sure it's Chinese though, or think it is anyway.

I bought a 60 ft low pressure SCUBA hose from a Florida company for I think maybe a little over $100? Good hose came with some extras I didn't think about like a belt to attach the hose to so it didn't pull on your reg. I used a spare Dive Rite reg I had laying around.
My swimming SAC (surface air consumption) is 1.7 cu ft per min., I believe any compressor that will deliver 2 cu ft per min or more at around 100 PSI will be fine.
The Intermediate pressure for almost all SCUBA 2nd stage regs is around 150 PSI, meaning that the closer you can get to 150 PSI, the better. The compressor above turns off at 120 PSI and stays close to that when I'm using it.
Note you don't need a good balanced second stage for this kind of stuff, an inexpensive un-balanced one will work just fine.

Re: Looking for hookah system

will put my chips in also...

I went with Seabreathe... perhaps not the cheapest... but product delivered as described. Used every fortnight for the past 2 years with no issues or complaints.

No affiliation... in fact, his website still lists different currency options which weren't honoured when I made the purchase. That's just a quibble though. For the money (compared to paying someone to clean), it has already paid for itself several times over....

Don't skimp on quality...

Do you remember the name of the company?
Thanks

2nd stage regs de-tuned for use in hookah rigs are available and I have never used anything but. I know divers who have had issues with off-the-shelf scuba 2nd stages when used in a hookah system.

I think maybe this one?
Diver Gear | Alternative Dive Gear Scuba | The Air Line Hookah by J. Sink

If not, it sure looks like the hose I got, I added a swivel I got from here as I dive there and I like a swivel at the reg, but it's not necessary

You may not have use for a 60' hose, 40' may be more than you need, I just like having plenty of extra hose, I may need it one day to retrieve an anchor or something.

I'm sure your right, but as a cave diver and with a diving family, I have probably at least a dozen reg sets and first second stage I tried, a Dive Rite, breathes wonderfully. If you already have a reg, why not give it a try?
Like that compressor I gave a link to, it really is quieter than normal conversation, I don't worry about it bothering anyone in a Marina at all, no matter if it is an early morning, but if you have a dive tank, it may make more sense to just use it and not buy a compressor.

A64 said Florida so maybe Divers Supply.

Regulator Rubber Hose - Hoses & Adapters - Scuba

I haven't used their hose but a diver I know uses it and is very flexible unlike Brownies hose.

Re: Looking for hookah system

I believe there is a shop in St. Pete, Fl that puts together and/or sells parts for electric hookahs. I believe the name is "Tackle Shack".

No mention of anything hookah-related on their web site.

Re: Looking for hookah system

I know but I've seen their displays at the boat shows and the fellow cleaning my hull recommended them. Maybe they don't sell hookah systems anymore or it's a specialty item.

If you're interested you might give them a call. Even if they no longer put them together, they can perhaps point you in right direction

I've been building my own hookahs for over 20 years, but I'm always looking for parts sources.

Re: Looking for hookah system

I have the compressor and hose, My Wife and Ex used for a Hookah.
It's a 2 cyl, Gast compressor. Very high quality. And expensive!
I have it mounted on a small tank. I used it with a full face mask, when sanding my decks. That and headphones, with my favorite music, almost made it pleasurable!
PM me if interested in it.

Thank you for your offer. I am however looking for an all electric system preferably all complete.

I really appreciate every bit of information regarding putting one of these together and I haven't decided what I'. going to do and have not had anybody offer a complete system to me as of yet .
