Want to Rent: looking for 6-month rental

We are a family of five looking for a six-month rental in the Caribbean from Jan 2013-July 2013. Does anyone know of any company or individual that does that kind of rental?

good luck,,, you will have to do lots of searching. While they do weekly rentals, I think i they did a 6 month rental, the price you would pay will not be worth it. It might be worth buying a new or used one. Might want to consider doing something like the morrings were you could use the boat so many weeks a year. if you bought one of there new ones you might be able to put it into charter with them when you are done with it.

Try negotiating and see what happens? I'd think they'd love to charter a boat for 6 months with one cleanup and prep! Seems there must be some seller's trying to sell down island that might consider it too.

For the price of that long a rental, I'd also think it might pay to put down a down payment and buy a boat under a charter agreement, leave it in charter after your six months are up.

Or, you might ask about boats that are being DIScharged from charter plans, back to their owners. The owners might be interested in keeping the boat "in service" for another six months, and free to negotiate a deal on that.

Call & email charter companies directly, that's cheap enough these days. Invite their input for anything that's not standard, they may come up with other ideas like a lease/buy-back program.
