You can buy the M802 with the AT140 tuner new from Dockside or Defender for around $2300, and they come with the factory warranty.

Hi guys, I was wondering whether you know which model SSB radio would be almost as good as this ICOM M 802, but 1/3rd of the price... I have an extremely tight budget. I live in France.

I picked up a used m700 pro for ~$1000 with tuner. It's going to be hard to find anything cheaper than a grand I think since you'll need the tuner as well.

There are a few features in the 802 that you simply can't get in the cheap seats but if you want the SSB for all the basic reasons that most of us really need in a SSB then you have all sorts of choices from an older 700 to clipped HAM set ups that are very affordable. Cheapest is probably a clipped HAM and others here can probably help you in this area.

I'm no expert when it comes to HAM rigs but look into something made by Icom,Kenwood or Yaesu for a start. Something like an Icom 735 used can be picked up for around $500.00 plus tuner. There are just so many choices on the HAM rigs.
