Hood Reacher Luff 53' Luff Excellent Condition

Excellent quality Hood offshore reacher built from Hood's own quality cloth - one of the best woven fabrics in the world. Built in the USA. Sail is in excellent condition, not much stretch.
Weight is about 4 oz . We flew it about 8 times only since new - sail is about 15 years old, mostly stored at the house. Can also be classified as a gennaker - it is relatively flat cut similar to a very large genoa, light air. Can be used in winds 0-18 kts, depending of course on the direction of travel. It has a #6 luff tape, compatible with most furlers for boats in the 37-45 foot range. Easy to use when sailing shorthanded as it can be used similar to a big genoa, sheeted usually through a point aft and led to a primary winch.
It has the following measurements:
Luff 53'
Leech 49'4"
Foot 26'
Has proper Leech and foot leech lines with jammers and covers for jammers to prevent chafe.
Has draft stripes, tell tales, positive foot with barber haul attachment point, additional tack ring 1' above the bottom for additional adjustments, downhauling. Has a few small stains around the Hood label and 3 very small profesionally repaired holes about 3"X 3" in area each.
A great sail- about a $3500 sail if built today. Has Bag with mesh bottom.
Asking $800 plus shipping about $40 in the continental USA.

Any pics? What wind angles would this sail be suitable for?

Re: Hood Reacher Luff 53' Luff Excellent Condition

Hello silversailor

This is a sail that can be used for wind angles about 50 to 130 or so, depending on the speed and if you use a pole or have a bowsprit.

Here are some pics. We have more if you like - please let us know.
