Re: Honda EU2000i Companion Generator & Cover
... in fact if you use Google and search for Honda 2000i it will give you links to 13 dealers, ALL selling them for $ 999,- incl. shipping.

The Honda 2000 comes in two models. The regular model has two 20 amp plugs and a 12v dc outlet. The companion has one 20 amp plug and one 30 amp plug.

Re: Honda EU2000i Companion Generator & Cover
If you don't intend ganging two Hondas, the regular model works just fine. I plug mine into my boat's 30amp shore power receptacle with a 15/30 pigtail. My old EU2000i has 2 15 amp plugs.

$999 including shipping except to Alaska and Hawaii and that is not the price of the companion model.

Re: Honda EU2000i Companion Generator & Cover
Not that it is very important, but the companion model does not have the direct 12V battery charger posts.
Not sure how many amps they are, but it's low, not very useful

If you want to use the non companion model with your 30 amp shore power cord figure in about $50 USD for an adapter pigtail.

I don't see the point of a 30A. plug on something that cannot put out 30A.

It avoids the need for an adapter.

What's not to like? Pretty much every cruising boat we've met had one. I run mine in the cockpit with a 6' 30 amp power cord. I think I bought mine at Wise for $999.00 back in 2012. Looks like they went up $100.00 since then.

I got the one with the 12vDC charger and two 120v plug ins that runs on mouse exercise wheel power (very quiet). It was much cheaper but still over 1100 here in Hawaii. I kind of wished I'd gotten the one with the 30amp plug in so I could use it directly at the cabin. It'll still work but will be a bit of a different hookup. They are really nice quiet and light machines at 50lbs compared to my old Honda 3500 or 6500.
Highly recommend the EU2000i

Hondas can be paralleled and the 30A plug on the Companion model can carry the full output of two units.
