Re: HANDEM 95 VIP SCHOONER
In this case the OP is referring to the type of hull design, not the sailing rig, which is clearly a ketch. This is a case of miscommunication related to langauge, schooner or schoner can mean other things in other places.

"in my humble opinion"
Schooner is a rig description just like cutter and ketch. I have never seen a hull description for a schooner.
Putting on flame retardant suit...

Agreed. But in Turkey a Gulet, which is both a general hull type and the place where they are built, are often referred to as "schoners" regardless of rig. This may seem misleading to some, but I think it is an honest misstatement leading from not having english as a first langauge. This is not the first ketch-rigged gulet I have seen described thus.

SCHONER in German means the schooner. You can watch and translate not only write with strait face!

Re: HANDEM 95 VIP SCHOONER
I didn’t mean to stir up a cultural controversy: I just said it didn’t look like a schooner to me. At least it’s given them a bit more publicity. But what the sellers should be aware of is it places the boat in the wrong category on sites like Yachtworld. So it would be better they use the customary international designation, irrespective of national descriptions.
By the way, the LWL is also incorrect; surely that's the beam.

Re: HANDEM 95 VIP SCHOONER
If that's a traditional Gulet hull form, it's a motor sailor (emphasis on motor)...
Looking at that owner's cabin, it sure would be a long, painful trip to the overhead if she rolled in a seaway....
