Garmin GPSMAP 4208 $1000

I have 2 units, this one is effectively the spare one. I can mount it on a swivel ball, just can't figure out why I need two chartplotters. So it just sits in a box, I only take it out when I do Garmin firmware updates. It is practically like new, although I did take the plastic film off the screen because it felt good to do so (better than popping the bubble wrap).

New ones are $2k. Refurbished ones on the internet are $1.5k. So this is a good deal. You pay shipping.

Comes with power cable, GPS antenna. It has pre-loaded charts for North Am and the Bahamas. More details here: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=8113

Re: Garmin GPSMAP 4208 $1000

I installed another Garmin Firmware update today so took some pictures:

1. Loading the update:

2. Back of the unit (you can see my other chartplotter in the background):

3. "Fishing" map (this is built in, no card needed):

4. Combo screen, with Nav map, radar screen, sonar screen:

As you can see on the last pic it was getting dark so I went home.

Re: Garmin GPSMAP 4208 $1000

Interested but price is rich when I can buy factory refurbished unit from top rated seller on ebay for $100 more. I have a 5212 that I easily move up and down from my bridge depending on weather. This would run on my network. What's your bottom line? I will be leaving for the Bahamas in in 2 weeks.

Price is firm, I'll just keep it if it doesn't sell.
$1100 for a refurb unit you mention is a pretty good price, depends on condition. In any case, if you're leaving in two weeks, the shipping cost to get it there in time is about to go up.

FWIW,

I personally know earthbm and the previous owner of this boat.
The unit he's selling has had very little use and has been stored properly.
