Garmin 126 GPS

My old Garmin 126 is on its last legs, and believe it or not, I am hoping someone out there has one of these old buggers laying in the garage gathering dust. Use OpenCpn as a stand alone chart plotter but like the basic lat/long
bearing and range to next way point of the old school garmins... 126 would be a drop in but any unit with a serial interface and self contained antenna would work...

Here is hoping . Underway for Marathon so net access is catch as catch can but will be checking back regular with my fingers crossed

TIA
Cap Couillon

Re: Garmin 126 GPS

tks Ed but that is a few to many bells and whistles as it were,,, Ludite that I am, I like the old interface with no charts. Just lat/long and bearing and range to the next waypoint. If I cant find an old one, will have to go the whole new ballgame. 'Took some time to set up the interface so I can upload routes and waypoints from OpenCpn to the 126, and I hate to have to re invent the wheel for a system I dont really want.
Ah well... will just chug along with what I can work out till I land one... I know someone out there is enough of a packrat to have one floating around.

Sad it's so hard to be simple

tks again

Re: Garmin 126 GPS

There was a functioning black and white Garmin on my current boat when I bought it. It looked similar to your photo. Tomorrow night I will look for it in my pile of "treasures" and get back to you.

Re: Garmin 126 GPS

I'm sorry but I've been unable to find it. It's probably buried in a box somewhere.
