For Sale: Used Furling Genoa

Folks,

This is a Neil Pryde dacron furling (140%) genoa (just the sail for sale - no other components) from my '97 Beneteau Oceanis 461. It was used up North (Narragensett Bay, RI) for six 'short' seasons and during the delivery of my sailboat to FL. It is in pretty good condition and has a clear leech sunshield.

This was the original sail my boat came with.

For sizing help, here are the rigging vitals of my sailboat:

I: 54.53' (16.62m)
J: 15.95' (4.86m)
P: 46.66' (14.25m)
E: 17.06' (5.20m)

I will consider all offers - you pay shipping costs - if interested, please PM me.

Thanks and fair winds to all!

Sailndive345,
I am interested in this as an extra sail. Can you provide additional information about condition? Any anticipated repairs due to rips and/or necessary restitching? How about stains or other imperfections?

Also, can you give me an idea about what you are looking for in terms of price? I want an extra sail in case mine requires repair.

Thanks in advance for your response.

The sail doesn't have any stains or imperfections - as far as I can see, doesn't need restitching either. The clear sun shield shows slight discoloration. The hardware (cringles) appear all sound.

I hadn't planned on replacing but the sailmaker gave me very good deal when I was buying a new PBR main.

How about $600 + shipping to where you are?

Oh I ment to add; it also comes with a brand new sailbag

Hope this helps - plz let me know if I can provide more details.

Too bad... that sail is probably too big for my boat.

Sailndive345,
Thanks for your quick response.

It sounds like the sail is in at least good condition. Just what I was looking for. Let me know if I have the correct impression. If so, I am good to go at $600 + Shipping. I suggest UPS Gnd since it would limit the cost to ~$30. I assume sail and bag can be packed into a cardboard box for shipping.

I don't know how to trade personal information and discuss other particulars without posting. I also need to know the best way to pay you. Can you point me in the correct direction and/or make a recommendation?

Thanks in advance.

Sail4321,

Where are you located? The sail is in St Augustine, FL. I also frequently drive to/from Atlanta, GA from FL. If you are somewhere nearby, perhaps we can save you some $$ from shipping(?) I am not sure how much UPS ground costs - the sail may be heavier than their weight limit? (it would be good to check w/UPS)

I am currently out of the country - will return on Sep 28 - I'll PM you when I return so we can exchange other info as well.

Also, when I return, I can take some photos of the sail and email you if you'd like.

How does this sound to you?
