For Sale: Nilsson Windlass

Hi I have a circa 1985 windlass. I've rebuilt most of it but have decided to buy a new one. The worm drive is in bad shape but I have ordered the new part and will be delivered with the new part in place. The motor was professionally rebuilt in 2008. It was re-chromed in 1996 so it looks pretty good. It is good for my boat which has a dry weight of 21.5k pounds. The gypsy is set up for 3/8" BBB chain. If you pick up I will throw in aprox two hundred feet of chain that needs to be regalvanized. I am asking $750 bucks. I am leaving on March 31st for three weeks and will be out of touch.

Windlass

Charlie: Did you sell it yet? I'd like to see a picture if you have one. Also, do you know how to use it manually to bring in your anchor in a power out emergency? I haven't been able to figure it out.

Hi larry:

Didn't sell it yet. to bring the anchor up w/o power you need to take the cap off the top and then insert the special tool and crank it around. Works pretty good.

Special Tool

Charlie: Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me more about the special tool? We have a Passport 40 we just bought and I don't think this tool came with it.

Hello Charlie,
Has the new worm gear come in yet? I'm interested in the unit if it is still available.

Best,

Mike
