Unhappy For Sale: '79 CSY 33' Cutter - $30k

We have a growing family and we really need a bigger boat. The CSY has never let us down and is a GREAT boat and very comfortable.

1997 CSY 33, 27hp Yanmar w/ less than 400 hours, new sails.
We are completing a 4 month cruise down to the Keys and returning to St. Simons Island, Georgia for a few months.

I have done a LOT of work recently including:

New 3 reef fully battened mail, new mack pack, all sails repaired, new custom cockpit bimini

Fuel System overhauled, Racor disassembled and cleaned, fuel recirculation and priming pump installed

New salon table that raises to dining height and lowers to coffee table height.

New manual bilge pump (electric bilge installed 2007)

New- all 4 lower standing rigging in 2008

Hull paint touched up, new bottom job, new zincs November 2008

For a more complete description and LOT's of pictures go to:

click on the CSY for sale button.

It really is a great boat and I hate to sell it for this price. We paid 43k in 2004 for the boat and it is in better condition than when we bought it.

This is my dream boat jcmcdowell. Unfortunately with the housing market as is, I don't think I will be able to afford it unless the US dollar goes into hyperinflation (i'm in canada). No way I can sell my house for enough to cruise and afford a boat. I've been lusting over CSY33s for a long time now, it really is the perfect boat for me.

If you ever come into a massive amount of money and decide to give the boat to a needy soul for next to nothing, I'm here for ya

Just one bit of advice...on your page in the pics..I love to see a pic of the boat under full sail. And call me insane, but is it a pilothouse or a ketch? It looks like a cutter.

Good luck jcmcdowell sorry to see you have to sell your boat!

Great Boat-

It is a great solid boat. Massive amount s of salon space and storage for the 33'

It is technically a Ketch with a club footed boom, but I've never used it and have it stored in the garage. The staysail standing line is rigged and I use it sometimes for the staysail loose footed like a storm sail.

It is also a pilot house. The little pilothouse provides 6'5" head clearance in the salon. The pilot house pops up about 2' above the deck. It has 6 fixed windows around the salon allowing a lot of light into the boat. There are plenty of ports and hatches to allow air through the boat.

I might even be talked into including a Monitor Windvane with the sales price!

Ah, I don't see a mizzen mast... Don't ya mean it's a Cutter or double headed sloop?

Apparently the boat has been sold.

Should not these threads be deleted when a boat gets sold?

Well. I'm trying to get a policy in place and actually a script that can based on age remove them. Some how last years classifieds just don't grab members as much as expedted. Being a moderator is mostly like a janitor. We sweep up and put things away most of the time. Classifieds is not the highest priority. Dealing with member issues and issues in the messages sections is where we try to spend the most effort. It does leave some areas less covered.
