European gaz/butane adapter
Looking for the adapter with the blue shutoff (at least te one from defender has it) that lets you buy a European gaz bottle, and hook it into a US propane system.
Thank you!

Re: European gaz/butane adapter
I assume you're not buying from defender because of the price? I have one, but not 100% sure where it is. What's your offer?

Re: European gaz/butane adapter
Thanks for the reply - would $60 + shipping do it? Don't sell it if you might need it some day!

Re: European gaz/butane adapter
What is a European gaz bottle?
I am in Europe and I have seen at least 7 different gas connector types by now (Sweden, UK, Spain 4, France)
So, which one is the EUROPEAN GAZ type?

I knew feeding a stove in Europe could be a pain but seven different connectors? What happened to things like DIN standards, EU common trade and such?
I can see a fewl hundred Euros and a locker full of adapters when I get to Europe.

Maybe seven maybe twenty-seven, only EU Commission knows the truth. But they are very well protected in their bunker in Bruxelles. No way I can get very angry and hurt someone ;-)
Imaged: Swedish, UKish, Spanish_1, Spanish_2,
Spanish_3 is on the bottle right now (camping gaz type),
Not imaged: Spanish_4, French, Italian, ... , BTW I get the French one as soon as we are in Martinique again.
The only one that is sort of interchangeable is the Camping Gaz one. But Camping Gaz is by far the most expensive gas to buy.
Now if you want to ask me about power cords and plugs, water hose racors, etc. : DO NOT!
Hugs,
barnakiel

Power plugs I see every time I travel EU on business. I have a bag full of adapters including two different "universal" adapters (none of which worked in Israel).
Now I'm starting to wonder if it would be easier to install a generator, water maker and electric stove. All assuming that the EU diesel fuel works in US engines (and it's not dyed red if you are in Belgium).

Just use camping gaz. One type of bottle available everywhere. Yes it's expensive but most European cylinders probably will not fit in a gas lockers anyway. And anyway gaz prices are the least of your worries.
Also Europe mainly uses return rather then refill so you'll end up buying cylinders which are no use in the next country. Refilling is actually now illegal in the EU, but places that refill can still be found.

Re: European gaz/butane adapter
Hi, and where are you? We are in St Augustine, FL at Camachee Cove Marina, and have just completed our circumnavigation. We spent two years in the Med and have an adapter to connect a Turkish gas cylinder to our US POL fitting which can be used to decant from Turkish to US tank. Also have a CampingGaz cylinder and connector which I have been using on our BBQ grill. AND, a 220Vac power cable with the round 16 amp plug, and adapters for 32 amp, etc.
Relax about bottled gas. In most places you can find a shop that can fill your US propane tank. We had no trouble in Spain and Italy and Turkey (or anywhere else in the world, for that matter), and you can always purchase a local tank of gas and decant it into your US tank. About diesel: there is regular diesel and "Eurodiesel" which seems to be low sulphur. Just get used to paying around USD9 per gallon!!!
