Dive Compressor Rix SA-6

I have a Rix SA-6 (6 CFM) dive compressor that was removed from the engine space of our trawler. It was run by an engine driven hydraulic pump. This was a custom setup (Rix sells them with electric or gas motors). It is mounted in a stainless steel rack with the hydraulic motor and could be converted back to gas or electric. (See www.rixindustries.com breathing air, SA-6) It was working fine when removed some years back. Fills an 80 in under 15 min. This is an oil free compressor so it needs very little maintainance and no filters/dryers. Comes with overhaul kit, fill hose, yoke, etc. $1,600. venturini@hughes.net

AFAIK all dive tank compressors need filters and driers, if you don't remove the moisture you'll have problems with the tanks. Oil-free is good, but it does not mean maintenance free, even if the PO ran it that way. And the smaller the compresor unit, the more often it needs maintenance & supplies.

We had a dive shop in California for a few years and used this type of compressor on our trips and had no trouble at all with tanks. we used this one on our boat, in a wet invironment, and also had no problems.
