I am interested to see what gets offered. I am also in the market for a yacht in that price range.

Me too! But, I'd possibly go another 25k. And headed for Qld would be a plus.

Re: Cruising catamaran

Outremer 55 light would have to be a consideration wouldn't it? Already in French Polynesia with lots of gear on it for 250,000euro. They would have about the same room as a 45ft'er and heaps of safe, comfortable speed and its only a few ad's under yours.

Re: Cruising catamaran

LouisandNatash: Thank you. Looks a good value . The boat is larger than we wish to purchase. Als owe have had three seperate difficult experiences in French Polynesia and are unwilling to pursue boats located in that venue. Cheers.

hellsfire and StuM: May the best boys and girls win lol. November marked two years of trying to purchase a catamaran at our budget and value in the South Pacific. If we are unable to purchase my wife and I are headed to the States in June to purchase. Will enjoy the two year cruise home and take the depreciation when we import.

Mastequila,

What are your negative experiences in Fr Polynesia? Do they have to do with purchasing a boat, visas, bureaucrats or other? Thanks

Hey Mastequila
Just my five cents worth but we flew from Australia to America two months ago and have travelled from the west coast to the east in search of our catamaran-we are now in the St Martin in the Caribbean
-Lots of miles-lots of boats
-lots of dollars but have found nothing that suits our needs.
The catamaran and particularly late model well equipped owners versions are a hot market with most prices very close to full asking.
And even when you do find something negotiations all take time
-By the sound of your experiences I am not telling you something you don't already know.
-We are in closing stages of a boat in Europe.

Lagoon 440 available from Nov-Dec 2014 in NZ

Hi,
We are currently in Raiatea, after deciding to stay in French Polynesia for another year (after one year in the Marquises-Tuamotus). We plan to arrive in NZ by the end of November 2014. If you are interested in our ex-charter, 12-berth, fully equipped Lagoon 440 (2007 model, French flag, first registration February 2007), please PM me. You could meet us for sea trials either here till July, or in Samoa, Wallis, Tonga and Fiji (between August and November). We plan to arrive in Opua or Whangarei.
Regards
Oliver

Re: Cruising catamaran

Thank you all for your input. riv33 your five cents is worth a dollar. My wife and I have done a last chance and final review of the cruisers in Australia and New Zealand. We visited a Belize 43 in Yamba (PM me if you ever think looking at this boat) and Leopard 40 and 47 in Coomera. While in Coomera wechatted with an owner of a Lagoon 410S2. It was our first time on board this design and we really fell in love with it. Ultimately I think this will be our design. We are still waiting from any late arrivers this season.

Re: Cruising catamaran

Hi
Things have change since july 2014 in French Polynesia :
Transactions between non residents for a boat in temporary importation are now allowed, whitout paying any tax.
It's now easy to buy a boat there.
