Classic Whitehall 14' Row Boat

“This is the rowing craft often called the most beautiful rowing boat in the world, and it performs as nicely as it looks.”

Easy to maintain, the fiberglass hull is trimmed in teak with copper rivets in the gunnels. The wood has been hand rubbed with Teak Guard to restored perfection.

The “Glory,” can easily be rowed by one, but two full size rowing stations enable tandem rowing for extra fun and speed.

The most distinctive feature of a Whitehall is its “wineglass” shaped stern. This Whitehall displays the elegance of its heritage, and was built to last and provide enjoyment for generations.

The classic full length keel keeps this beautiful boat tracking straight while under way – a very useful feature for distance rowing. The Whitehall 14 easily carries four adults and rows extremely well in rough seas.

The hull shape has been perfected for maximum speed and minimum effort in all sea conditions. “Lapstrake” style makes the shapely hull stand out to be admired, and adds to the strength and rigidity.

The Whitehall represents an example of the “golden age” of marine design and craftsmanship of the early 1820’s.

Today’s growing interest in marine heritage and the proven health and recreational benefits of rowing is causing a rebirth of these traditional craft, which are a fusion of the fine design and workmanship of the past with the best of modern materials that offer the ease of maintenance and durability not available in early times.

The boat was built in 1986 by Strawberry Marine in Sausalito, California.

Glory was totally restored from stem to stern in the summer of 2015.

Glory comes with a full all-weather cover, one-piece wooden floor board, one fixed and one movable seat, and one set of Caviness 7’ oars, with removable bronze oar locks.

There is a spare quart of interior paint, ample quantity of Teak Guard for the future, and the specifications for the Interlux Paint primer and top coat.

Approximate specifications: Length 14’, Beam 49”, Depth 23” Estimated weight 200 pounds.

Check out prices

The Whitehall Rowing Company is another well-known manufacturer of Whitehalls. Check out their website for pictures and compare prices.

The Whitehall Rowing Company makes a fine boat and is similar to the one I am selling, but I believe my Whitehall is the better looking boat, and priced to sell at $3,700.

Location

The Glory is currently dry-docked 20 miles south of San Francisco in San Mateo, California. She can be seen by appointment.

Terms

Sold "as is" and "where is." Successful buyer must make arrangements for pick-up and transportation from nearby boat launch area.

Immediate deposit of US$500 required upon acceptance of offer, and entire transaction must be completed within 10 business days of purchase, and before boat is picked-up.

Seller does not have a trailer. The Glory will fit on any adjustable 14' boat trailer.
