So much for the web advertising budget.

And if you are an electronics geek and can comprehend the schematics that's a great website. However, most people do not have the knowledge and skills to build the electronically controlled machine shown on that site. My website shows how to build a much simpler machine that anyone with basic tinkering skills can build.
One could simply get rid of the electric parts and build it with manualy operated valves.

You're kidding

Ordinarily I wouldn't respond to this type of thread but I was laughing so hard, I felt a need to respond. One would need a Ph.D in mechanical and electrical engineering as well as be an expert machinist to follow and build this equipment. I guess I'll just need to pay retail. Am I getting senile or is this over anyone else's head.

Thanks for that. The link for that had changed and I had lost it.

Good Old Boat

The January/February 2003 issue of GOB has an excellent article by a Guy Stevens on the construction of a 20 GPH water-maker for less that $2,500 or a 45 GPH system for less than $3,200. Excellent description, instructions, parts lists and sourcing references.

FWIW I don't know what GOB would charge for a re-print but I suspect the $10 the original poster suggested is not out of line.

I found this while I was drinking beer and farting around on the internet last night.
intro
I think it is allied35's so in fairness to him, if you use his information please send him 10 dollars or at least 10 dollars worth of beer or air freshener . Frankly it looks like its worth more than 10 dollars .

seems like you need an extra boat just for the watermaker if you make it on your own whereas the Katydyn 40 E from pictures could fit in your pocket comaratively... is this an issue for anyone?
