Re: Bahamas Explorer Chartbooks
The Bahamas Explorer Chartbooks cost $180 retail new so we're offering the set of 3 half off -- a little less than $90 -- plus postage and packaging.
Estimate postage = ~$12.50 or $17.50 for UPS Priority. Recommend Priority for tracking plus $50 insurance included. The padded envelope costs ~$2.00.
The chartbooks are practically indestructible so they're in good shape still.

If you don't get a better offer, I'll take the Exumas book delivered to 48324 for $25. Thanks.

Re: Bahamas Explorer Chartbooks
First two are already into the next editions so they are old slightly obsolete books although still good for a good price. I will up my offer to $ 75 for all 3 you pay freight.

Re: Bahamas Explorer Chartbooks
Its a lot cheaper if you use the USPS media books shipping option.

Re: Bahamas Explorer Chartbooks
Leave Renes alone Dana. You are already giving the books away and people who want to penny-pinch you down to their level are not worth dealing with.

Well, that's all we need on this forum. People like this " Jolly Roger " that have nothing better to do then to add criticism and tell people what they should do and insult others.
Ms Dana has something used to sell and it's between the seller and buyer to achieve a price that works for both.
Roger, mind your business or buy the books from Dana for the price she is asking for.

Re: Bahamas Explorer Chartbooks
Well, I’m not sure quite how to respond to that little outburst.
Renes knows very well why I wouldn’t buy Dana’s chart books, because he tried to penny pinch mine a few weeks ago. Which are now sold for my asking price thank you.
As for telling people what to do, this was his knowledgeable comment.
"You bought them for $ 120, they are now used. The older they get, the less they are worth. In my view, they are worth half what you paid for them. When a new edition comes out, they are worthless. My offer included some freight, USPS about $10. If not interested, no need to reply."
I didn’t reply.
If he needs these charts so badly, I suggest he buys them retail like Dana and I did, along with hundreds of others.
And as for my being on this forum: I’ve contributed a darn sight more than he to date, and will no doubt continue to do so.

Re: Bahamas Explorer Chartbooks
Hi Rene & MI248
There is someone willing to pay my asking price for the whole set who's semi local to my area. I will hand-deliver them.
As far as whether they're not enough or too much, current or not....
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion (including Jolly Roger).
It doesn't hurt to ask for less any more than it hurts or doesn't hurt me to say "no" if the counter offer doesn't feel like it's enough.
As far as dated or not.... I've found the data on some marinas tends to change a little over time (open, not, phone numbers and prices, specifically), not much else seems to. In any case, I specifically posted the edition numbers so any prospective buyers were clear on what version I had. None are more than one version out of date (Explorer Charts updates about every 2 years). The maps, though, rarely change.
Personally, I am happy to save money and buy an older edition when the majority of the info I need is still relevant. I generally buy new when I'm pressed for time, not because it's the latest.
Not everyone feels the same and it would be a dull world if we did.
