Anchor Chain 250 x 3/8 HT ACCO

250 ft of 3/8HT ACCO chain. About 3 yrs old.

I am selling it because I am switching to 5/16 G70. Nothing wrong with the chain.

Seattle area only. $700 (Fisheries cost $1600)

Re: Anchor Chain 250 x 3/8 HT ACCO

Hey There... 3/8 too big for your 49 for some reason??? Just bought a 48 Wauquiez pilot saloon needing bow gear... as well as extensive repairs to the rudder... Keel... mast... Any thoughts or help as I'm new to the W family would also be appreciated!

Thanks!

Re: Anchor Chain 250 x 3/8 HT ACCO

Not too big at all. I am going with Grade 70 chain, which is very similar in strength, but significantly lighter (1.1 lbs/ft vs 1.54 lbs/ft). G70 is also more expensive.

Oh, and I will throw in a 45lb genuine CQR.

I also have a stainless steel dehumidifier for sale.

Re: Anchor Chain 250 x 3/8 HT ACCO

I have a Wauquiez PS43. I also bought it with rudder problems - the stock was very slightly out of true after the boat sat in a marina without moving for 8 years. After a lot of misinformation about what needed to be done and which parts to replace, I found a good shipwright in S of France who fixed it in a couple of hours. What is the problem on yours?

Bow gear. We have a pair of ROCNA anchors and a LEWMAR 'Concept' windlass with 10mm chain. The anchors aren't cheap but we're very pleased with this combination.

Where are you located?

Re: Anchor Chain 250 x 3/8 HT ACCO

I too switched over to 5/16" G70 Acco Chain. Lighter, stronger than 3/8" BBB, slightly less strong than 3/8 G43. Oh, and did I say lighter? A great move.

Because the chain is smaller (unless you have enlarged links on the ends) you should use Crosby g-209a shackles. I was able to go 2 sizes up with my 5/16th chain and put a 7/16" shackle though the standard link. With a 2 2/3 ton working load a great match to the chain. Pick them up at a crane riggers place or other non-marine shop.

regards, Ethan

Does bump mean the chain is sold or all has gone quiet?
