Re: 6hp Mercury 4-stroke outboard

Got the EXACT same Merc; same year. Heavy to shift around, but quiet and sips gas. Mine was stored for a couple of years in the open in SoCal, so, had it refurbished for around $450. Currently on my 10' Achilles, a very heavy inflatable with aluminum floor, six gallon tank, bow box by Todd and still slowly gets up on plane and runs 20 mph with my 210 lb. carcass steering. Good outboard IMO.
