40' Steel Ketch, Bluewater, Smooth Hull, Gulf Coast

“White Bean” – 40’ Steel Sailboat needing some TLC - $25,000 – Joshua design, cutter-rigged ketch sail plan, center cockpit, full keel, canoe stern round hull. 40’ length on deck with 4’ bowsprit. 6’ draft. 12’ beam. Built 1974 Venice, Italy. Refit in 1991. Sailed until 1998, then on the hard since, derigged, 75 miles inland from Gulf Coast in Alabama. Blue water steel cruiser designed to go anywhere. Has sailed extensively in the Med and Caribbean with several transatlantic passages. Sleeps 7 in sea-worthy bunks plus more on the lowered dining table. Forward and aft cabins each can be sealed off with watertight hatches to main cabin. 55 hp Ford diesel with 3 blade prop. Aries self-steering wind vane. She loves open water and can almost sail herself. The spars, rigging and sails (rolling furled jib, cutter jib, mizzen, main, spinnaker, and spares) in good condition have been stored in conditioned space. Profurl Genoa furling, several anchors, whisker poles, life raft, propane stove, Baby Blake head, water-collecting awning, wind scoop, wind generator, etc!!!! Gorgeous shaped hull needs general overhaul and refit.

Neal, the owner hasn't logged in since 13 August and with no contact details in the advert you may have a problem.

Re: 40' Steel Ketch, Bluewater, Smooth Hull, Gulf Coast

Our boat is still for sale. Sorry for any confusion. Neal did get in touch with us and we have been discussing the details. Apparently the notices from the forum were getting caught in our spam filters since we never received the ones from Neal. If any one else is also interested in the boat, please email dcoleman07@sunplans.com
