37' Chris Craft Apache -- Needs to go!

I posted on here a while ago that Illusion is now for sale, we had some offers in the spring that in retrospect I should have taken but we were still living aboard and hadn't found our next boat. We've found our new home and it's time for Illusion to find hers!

She's a 1967 Chris Craft Apache with beautiful lines and great sailing performance. She's a Sparkman and Stephens design that's very similar to a Hughes 38 in her lines or a Hinkley 36. All systems are in good shape, we've lived aboard for 3 years and I've owner her for 5.

We've taken her up through the Chesapeake bay, down the East Coast to South Florida and through most of the Bahamas -- she's a great boat in solid condition and a nice price

I rebuilt the engine in 2010 and it runs like a top (Westerbeke w27, 27 hp 4 cylinder diesel it's a 1984 I believe). It has a large 3 blade prop that pushes the boat at 5.5 knots at 1800 RPM, hull speed around 2200 RPM.

-- New Sail Cover and Bimini this year
-- GPS Mounted at helm
-- VHF with cockpit speaker, new antenna recently -- get great range
-- Monitor Windvane with wheel attachment
-- Nice paint job on deck/cabin (2 part poly Interlux perfection)
-- 45 amp battery charger
-- Adler/Barbour fridge
-- two solar panels (75 watt/90 watt)
-- Kiss Wind Generator
-- Honda 1000 Portable Generator
-- 33lb bruce/35 lb CQR on 180' chain rode and the CQR on 75' chain/200' rode
-- interior cabin recently painted, wood in good shape
-- Hillrange 3 burner propane stove with oven
-- two water tanks 40 gallon/25 gallon
-- two larger quarter berths (6'4") and big V-berth
-- two hanging lockers
-- lots of outside storage
-- new house bank (230 amp hour, two golf cart)
-- Lecrta SAN
-- New Head

Re: 37' Chris Craft Apache -- Needs to go!

I am interested in Illusion. However, two phone calls to the number listed have not yielded the expected results. The 2nd call was this morning and we did get the seller on the line. However when asked about the standing rigging there was a long pause and the call was terminated.

I am keen on a timely response either to this thread or to the phone number in the 239 area code.

Re: 37' Chris Craft Apache -- Needs to go!

Rigging is in good shape, older swaged fittings -- estimated at 15 years old, it was done by the previous owner ~1999, oversized and recently checked by a rigger November 2011 before we went to the bahamas

I replaced the spreaders with new spruce ones in Feb of 2010

Darn that work!

We did get the idea that maybe your contact number was an office. I apologize for any aggravation. A best time to call you is appreciated.
