32' Mariner Ketch $10,000 located in Zihuatenejo, Mexico

Not mine. Just met a guy here looking to unload. Says its in great shape. If interested, I could probably dinghy over and get some pics. Wanna spend the summer sailing up in the Sea of Cortez for cheap?

Does your boat have a mast on each hull?

Very neat indeed. Yea I assumed as much. I hate to be judgemental of boats, but the 32 mariner is one that actually ranks as crappier than my oday 32 ketch. I'm sure someone will chime in and state the mariner is 2" solid glass and sailed around all 3 horns singlehanded by a parrot.

That's hilarious!

The mast on each hull thing is interesting. What kind of boat is that?

In your opinion is that ketch worth 10k?

I'll go check it out tomorrow and get a better idea.

My boat is the one and only Cat2Fold.
A 36' x 24' catamaran that folds and is trailerable at 8'6".

Well...I'm 6'7" and can stand in the main part of the hulls...barely.

I find it extraordinarily rude to talk smack about something that somebody is selling in a classified ad. I would expect it on a Japanese car forum or a video game forum.

Can you elaborate on you statement about the quality of the Mariner 32. Since this boat is on my short list of blue water candidates I'd very much like to hear your input. What limited information I've been able to gather about this boat has been generally positive, so I'm curious as to what makes it so crappy.

Re: 32' Mariner Ketch $10,000 located in Zihuatenejo, Mexico

1.The OP clearly stated it is not his boat, he was just passing it on. I however can freely admit to my boat hull being on the way lower end of the mass produced yachts and was pointing out that not a whole lot of boats are worse, but the mariner is right their along with it.
2. I actually spend a good chunk of time talking smack about jap cars, as I am a German car nut. So spooners in hondas with fart can mufflers and neon underlighting deserve the smack they get.

Re: 32' Mariner Ketch $10,000 located in Zihuatenejo, Mexico

Ok so I have discovered my mistake, and after investigating further realize this was not the boat I thought it was. I thought it was a trailer sailor aft cabin cc, So to clear things up I was trying to talk smack about the Clipper Marine 32, the Mariner 32 seems to be a very sturdy well built unit. To the poster that had it on his short list, my advice would be to stretch your short list a few feet. Once cruising you can never have to much storage, my 32 is packed full and I'm fighting for space to fit a watermaker in the spring.

Re: 32' Mariner Ketch $10,000 located in Zihuatenejo, Mexico

Mariner 32s are pretty good boats if they've been well cared for. Their glass over ply cabin tops and sides and decks have been known to have dry rot if hardware is not bedded correctly.
I try not to judge other boats unless I have some real personal experiences with them. I do have experience with the Mariner 32 and 35.
kind regards,

Marine 32, Mariner 32, one tiny r on the end makes a world of difference between the two boats.
