1973 33' Morgan out island

I am selling a my dads old boat, a 1973 MORGAN 33 out island, that he and I used to work on and sail. It is on the hard at Sterling Marina in Hudson beach Fl. where it was undergoing an extensive refit, he has passed away and I can not continue this project unfortunately due to work and military obligations and distance. This project is approximately 80-85 % complete. it has a Perkins 50 that was rebuilt and placed back in the boat. complete interlux barrier coat and bottom job mast was taken down and repainted and new standing rigging and Harkin roller furling from JSI, as well as a set of new sail from JSI that is half paid for. sails that came with the boat are in fair to good condition. deck has been repainted and new anti skid. new port lights. galley has been re-done with superior access to the engine and new sink and microwave. many new parts and accessories to go along with the boat too many to list. This is Great opportunity for some one that wants to put the finishing touches on this great old boat. I would like to have this boat sold before my upcoming deployment so preferably in the next 30 days or so. I really want to see someone finish this boat and enjoy it, that is the most important thing for me.
length: 33'
Price $2000.0 OBO, and comes with lots of extras included, motivated seller

I believe he means that it's probably worth more than that.

That's a nice boat... waiting for the answer to seaworthiness.... Might be willing to move her up to the large lake near me.

Re: 1973 33' Morgan out island

We lived aboard a 1973 "sistership" to this vessel for 13 years before our two children required more individual space. We liked it so much that we searched out our current 1973 41' to replace her.

Would Love to buy this boat! As a carpenter, most of this is right up my alley. I spent one summer on a Morgan 36 IO sailing the Great Lakes in my teens. Unfortunately, the distance from here in Muskegon,MI. makes it an impossible task for me economically.

Re: 1973 33' Morgan out island

Gents the price of 4000.00 is correct. I was writing this in a hurry yesterday between training. and some of the parts alone are worth that. The goal of this sale is to sell this boat to someone who will take care of her and finish the job and raise sail again with this boat. My Father did extensive work on this boat and it was what he really enjoyed. as far as what additional work, she will float all through hull fittings were changed to marlon and work was completed on all holes by boat yard contractor- Jim. the motor needs to be rewired and final adjustment for proper lineup need to be made. prop was coated in prop speed. once back in the water call JSI in St. Petersburg and have them fix the forestay roller furling foil. reattach boom and adjust standing rigging. re-wire most 12v systems w/ wire provided on boat. install deck hardware and stanchions- they are in a box. install what ever kind of electronics you want, there is some new stuff that will convey. this is a keel stepped mast- all wires for mast accessories are at the base of the mast. there are custom made bunk extensions for port and starbord saloon bunks. the Bimini and saloon table is up here with me and i can bring down and deliver at closing with other items from my moms house. I will post more later I have to go shoot now

I think you guys made the mistake of showing your hand. He was going to sell it for 2000. No one would make the mistake of listing the price wrong.

Re: 1973 33' Morgan out island

Greetings Fireeater, What branch are you with? I have spent 27yrs in the Service... at Elizabeth City, and Cherry Point Air Sta. I am interested in your Morgan 33 OI as a project boat, and currently have a 1973 Morgan 33 OI Ketch up here on Puget Sound, and would like some thing for sailing around Tampa Bay, when visiting my daughter, who lives down that way. Advise what the monthly yard fees are while working on the boat. Call me at 360-398-9209. I am sure that old Charlie Morgan ( the designer & builder of your Dads boat) sailing around Tampa Bay again...
