1965 Pearson Countess 44' Live Aboard Cruiser in The Virgin Islands $35,000

A classic John Alden design. S/V Sarabande was the 4th Countess ever made and was custom built by Gruman Allied Industries in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

She is U.S. Coast Guard Documented and an excellent cruiser/liveaboard and has the combined virtues of both a fast and able sailing yacht and an elegant and comfortable cruiser.

Sarabande was designed with spacious accommodations for family cruising in comfort. She sleeps 6: 2 in the fwd stateroom, 2 in the v-berth, 1 in the guest room and 1 in the deckhouse. The forward stateroom has a large v-berth, bureau and locker. Next aft to port is a guest room with a berth, locker and bureau. Opposite is an exceptionally large head with vanity type counter sink, hanging locker, Raritan toilet in great condition and separate shower stall. 2 steps up lead to the deck house with an L shaped dinette which converts to a large berth. A beautiful teak table folds up from the bulkhead. Large salon windows (replaced 2009) give great visibility and ample light. The galley is opposite with Force 10 3-burner stove and oven, large top-loading and lower drawer refrigerator, double sink, ample cookware and gourmet gadgets. There are numerous storage cabinets and lockers in every nook and cranny throughout the vessel. Teak and Holly sole in the Deck house & Teak and Holly vinyl in the remainder (new 2008). Interior paint and Sunbrella cushions & curtains were refurbished in 2008.

Many excellently engineered modifications and creature comforts designed for long-term cruising! Tons of tools, enough spares to open a chandlery, paper charts, every manual and extensive, interesting historical documents!

Re: 1965 Pearson Countess 44' Live Aboard Cruiser in The Virgin Islands $35,000

good afternoon I was hopping to hear from you about the Alden countess. Is she still available do you have more pics of her if so can you share? I have been a lover of this design ever since I first saw one I Rockland me when I was a kid with my sprints aboard our family's Alden traveler. (#4) seacluod. I seem to remember seeing your boat in mystic con a few years later but I could be wrong. Any how if you have not yet sold her let me know, it will take me some time to get to st. Tom as I am up here in the Boston area and I also have not yet sold my C&C 38 that I also put on market at steal ( asking only17500) but I do have other resources if you would please let me know what the status is concerning the Pearson thanks Capt David McQuarrie email

Oh I wish my 1967 Bronco was completed, using it to buy my boat. Everytime I see the profile of a Countess or Rhodes I just think "boat porn".
