Where to buy replacement for sail slides?

Hi all,

went out on a daycruise today and after having our little lunch we were about to pull up again the sail to head back to the marina...
But unfortunately one of the slides for the main sail broke.
Actually just the bottom composite part broke and the balls of the bearing were gone...
So basically I need either the whole slide or just the composite part.

I'm also thinking of replacing the balls in the other slides... as I had a look at them and they are not round anymore...

Thank you for advise

Best regards
Bahia

Sometimes riggers have them; sometimes sailmakers. Ask around your area. You may have to have them shipped in. If you're a yacht in transit, arrange it all with the port captain and Customs beforehand.

You should be able to find names on the parts. Otherwise, send photos to sail makers or riggers for assistance.

You can often find the Torlon balls from McMaster Carr.

Re: Where to buy replacement for sail slides?

I believe zspar make them. The UK subsidiary very efficiently despatched me some when I was in French Polynesia. I got them within a week and was not that alarmed by the price.
Be careful when replacing them otherwise the ball bearings go everywhere.
Cheers
