WATER HEATER LEAK WITH VOLVO 55s

Well as Murphy's law would dictate we have a progressively worsening fresh water leak at the nearly inaccessible fixture and hose exiting the hot water heater. My much thinner (and cuter ) mate managed to get some rescue tape around the pin holes in the hose we could see but it just appears to be forcing the leak back to the connection. Even she can only get one hand on the area at a time. I was thinking small mechanic head first in a harness from a halyard might get in there but before I start the acrobatics has anyone else had this issue? I guess with the larger engines the space to work disappeared. I am thinking we might have to add an access hatch on the sugar scoop but...
