Looks odd. Won't age gracefully.

New FP 47

I like the hydraulic dinghy lift/platform off the back. That is new to any of there sailing cats.

Stern cleats up high now instead of on the lower angled stern. Perfect.

I am sure they will sell a lot of these.

Love it. Got the pricing sheet.... My question is what comes with the base price ? It seems everything is an add charge.

You can get a price sheet if you go here and fill in the FP form.

You have a Texas FP dealer close to you.

Thanks for the kind reply. The owners of the dealership; Jeff and Cheryl are kind people. It was another dealer here in the US that sent us the pricing / options sheet. We definitely will not want to pay the ridiculous taxes here in TX and we are looking at keeping all of our options open including where the boat would be flagged. As it is not our plan to sail here on the Texas Coast.

The pricing sheet with all the options and what seemingly I felt should be part of the base price was overwhelming to us. The price of many of the options that I felt should be part of the base price was out of this world expensive. It kind of left me thinking that FP builds and sells the boats for a predetermined value based on what level of GP their business model dictates they must attain.

The options, and how you want your yacht to be commissioned is the opportunity for their dealers to make their profit.

Beautiful Cat. In my opinion FP has done an outstanding job and have checked off so many of the boxes that we were seeking for a cruising couple's catamaran. Yet I must admit it is very scary looking at the pricing sheet and the potential end cost.

Re: The new 47

AndyandDawn,

I get it, Texas has a 6.25% boat use tax.
Connecticut has the same 6.25% boat use tax. It's just crazy.

When you look at the pricing sheet. Most buyers start by ordering the Oceanique package which is a base boat + all the options most buyers would want.

Lagoon sells there catamarans this way also.

Re: The new 47

Cotemar,

Okay checked the pricing sheet and you are correct three Factory Packages;

Comfort Version: $50,600.30 (all US$)
Grand Large Version: $19,550.12
Oceanic Version: $35,650.21

Below that is a list of Factory and then Dealer Options for everything you could imagine and what I would think would be included with these packages and many options that should be part of the base price. All the items are priced out separately but almost no indication what is included with what package until you get to the last page and you see that your package includes cabin curtains but not the $35,420.21 rear hydraulic platform, the $11,312.62 hydraulic aluminum davits, or three hundred other items all priced similar. Want a/c and a water maker ? Electronics ? BIG $$$$$.

Any further input on how these are priced out we would find helpful. Not to waste your time or anyone else's. Yes I know I could ask the dealer, just not at the point of placing an order and don't want to get committed to a dealer when I have no idea what the end price will be or where we will register the boat. We are probably 18 months out.

Thanks, AndyandDawn

AndyandDawn,

PM (private message) me and I will give you some pointers on how to get the best deal on just what you need.
Just click on my name > Send private message....

This is our 2nd Fountaine Pajot purchase (2009 Mahe 36 & 2016 Helia 44 Evo), so we have a bit of experience with the process.

Re: The new 47

Does anyone know what the actual release dates are? This looks to be a very nice size if you can deal with the price. Definitely on my list, along with the new Helia.

Hello Steve,

Based on the information that we have received. The first hull is schedule to splash April, 2017 with first deliveries in May. With limited availability through 2017.

Based on very recent information received from the dealer, (8) units have been ordered since introduction and the next available scheduled hull completion date available is Sept, 2017.

Good luck with your decision making process, the new Helia EVO is also an outstanding yacht.

Re: The new 47

My dealer contact sent me the info about 8 weeks ago just after the dealer launch. Can confirm as above that 8 sold already with several pipeline sales expected in the coming weeks.

Specs on the lifting platform will be interesting if anyone is aware of the max weight in Kg.

I am sure they will sell a lot of these.

Catana 582 Caligo medels have used this system between 2001-2005. The manufacturer was a french company called "tenderlift". The ones on Catana are hydraullic driven and very heavy. I cannot figure out what FP is using but I assume is smaller and lighter.

Cheers
