On the 29th, our new Helia was loaded up on a truck at the factory, driven down to La Rochelle and launched, all in one day. It was a pretty incredible thing to watch and for anyone who is interested, I put together a video of the experience.
This shows how FP transports the boats from the factory via a 2 hour truck ride on a very indirect route
to the water
in order to find wide enough roads and tall enough overpasses. The truck bed
has a hydraulic lift
which is used to tilt the boat to pass by other cars and obstacles on the road.
We're still a bit in awe and counting down the days until we get to move aboard!
