Stopped Production ?

I ordered a Highland 35 in Oct 2011 (contract and deposit) for delivery around April/May this year. Just received a call from the dealer that FP is not going to build the boat. Can anyone confirm that information? Seems to me a pretty crappy thing for the company to do. Supposedly there are other Highland orders that are not going to be honored also. I thought they were a reputable company.

Call Aeroyacht or FP, the phone number is on the first page of their website.

Highland-35 still comes up on the FP web site

Catamarans Trawler by Fountaine Pajot.

I would call FP right away just to make sure your dealer is not going belly up.

Re: Stopped production?

The whole reason I ever started doing so much boat work was becuase I had ordered a 31 footer in '79 and the company went broke after my hull and deck were together. I worked with the owner for a while to get it as far as possible and then got it trucked out of there and had to spend 2000 hours finishing it. it was that or lose my $10k deposit...

clayzone,
The previous advise from Seahunter would be the way to react rather than a post here before you have all the correct information.
Your broker/agent should have contacted FP prior to placing the order to ensure there would be a boat available. The Highland 35 was released a few years ago and this company continually upgrade their models, and this may apply to the 35' model with only a limited number available prior to the release of next version/model.

The broker first call and then the FP yard.

Regards Gordon.

Hope it is all a misunderstanding--that is a beautiful boat! Good luck.

Re: Stopped production?

Hang on, he got a call from his dealer some months after he ordered and paid the deposit. I think he is entitled to have a concern. Go direct to FP.

Re: Stopped production?

Gents ,
Having dealt with FP , and knowing how professional they are , I would doubt very much that an order and deposit would have been accepted knowing that the boat would not be built .
As Gordon says , please do get ALL your fcats before posting such concerns .
Regards

A satisfied FP Customer and proud owner
