Spinnaker

Hello,

I have just purchased a Belize 43 and we are in the process of cleaning, maintaining and outfitting her to our needs.
She (FIFI) is a beautiful boat and we are looking forward to some serious sailing time together.
I have a question I hope one of you can answer and that is she comes with a spinnaker and a huge sock and I have no idea on how to rig it all up.

Cheers,

Bill

Re: Spinnaker

Do you have turning blocks on each bow?

Re: Spinnaker

Run the two sheets/braces one through each block and lead back to your appropriate winches.

not sure where they are on the Belize.

Trim as if you were on a monohull but without a pole.

Re: Spinnaker

We fly our asymetrical kite on a pole just like a real spinnaker.

You will find an endless line in side the sock. The bottom of the sock is a fiberglass ferrel. Rig and hoist the sail in its sock. Run the sheet to a turning block. When you are ready, find the hoist side of the endless line and pull the ferrel to the top of the mast. This will deploy the kite.
