Seeking original plans for tonnage measurement
Hi guys are there any Belize 43 owners out there who may have or know where or how to obtain Belize 43 plans showing measurements that could be used to compute an official tonnage measurement?
Hope that makes sense and I will certainly welcome any advice.
Thank you

You could try the "Dimension Plan" on my website:
Fountaine Pajot Belize 43 documents
Hey, wasn't it you who gave me those last year?

Re: Seeking original plans for tonnage measurement
Ah, you have 2 threads running, and I responded to the other. Here it is again.
I can't help with the answer but wonder if you are seeking this information for Australian registration purposes. If so, AMSA does not insist on it being provided for non commercial boats that size.
If that is your purpose I suggest you contact them. They are quite helpful and you can discuss such things by phone.

Hi Steve thank you for your input but this is for a friend and for the Canadian Ships registry which appears to be more difficult to deal with than AMSA.
Sorry about the duplicated thread I dont quite know how to delete the other one which was created by those cyberspace gremlins

Re: Seeking original plans for tonnage measurement
The Canadian Registry requires the tonnage number be provided by a registered tonnage surveyor that they recognize. When I looked into it a few years back there were only two in the Carribean. I decided not to waste my money on getting a totally useless number to satisfy an outdated requirement - I registered in Delaware.

Re: Seeking original plans for tonnage measurement
Hello, I understand what you are trying to do.
I bought a Fountaine Pajot Fiji in StMartin and had to have it registered in Canada before I could ship it back to Vancouver.
My choices were to hire a recognized surveyor and fly him to StMartin or have the tonnage survey done locally, in Victoria.
I chose the later and got enough information from Fountaine Pajot to enable the local surveyor to calculate its tonnage.
I had the original brochure and received drawings from FP.
Where in Canada is your friend from?

Yes that is correct as I understand it. FP has just sent some drawings to him.
They are located just north of Victoria. Do you recall who your surveyor was? Thanks

Re: Seeking original plans for tonnage measurement
Hey, Aussie Wayne,
Go to www.tc.gc.ca>eng>marinesafety .
Government Canada list of Appointed Tonnage Measurers,
Transport Canada Department.
The fellow that did mine has since retired.
There is on in Victoria, Nanaimo, and Campbell River.
All on Vancouver Island.
Let me know how you make out.

Thank catman I have passed the info on and I think he is making some good headway now with his own enquiries.
I will let you know how it works out.

Criky mate. Perhaps OZ has a short form like the USA Coast Guard. Otherwise get the name of any US documented Belize 43, go to the National Maritime Vessel Documentation website and type in the name of any US Belize 43 and the specs will show up including the Gross and Net registered tonnages.

Took a while trolling through Belizes for sale, but I finally found a US documented one:
2000 Fountaine Pajot Belize 43, Key Largo Florida - boats.com
and this appears to be it's documentation:
Vessel Documentation Query
Gross 43, Net 35

Re: Seeking original plans for tonnage measurement
Thanks to all who helped
I understand my friends registration is proceeding.
I am attaching a few drawings and info relating to a Belize 43 so that others may benefit down the track.
Maybe Stu might like to host them along with the others on his website as we don't seem to have a repository here for all things Belize on CF.
