Belize 43: Refrigerator Door Replacement

Hello, has anyone had to repair or replace a refi door like the one in the attached photo? It's a Fountaine Pajot Catamaran, most likely other French boats had the same hardware.

The Exterior hinges are breaking away from the door, corrosion..

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

We have the same problem the lower hinge has broken. Will be watching the post.

They all seem to be failing at the same age ;-) Our lower hinge broke away about six weeks ago. I asked at Fountaine Pajot for a replacement door and they told me that the manufacturer was DAV in the netherlands. Vente matériel bar, brasserie et restaurant, tireuse a biere, cave a vin

They are a big manufacturer of bar equipment and fridges.

I asked them if they still have our fridge door in stock, but unfortunately they dont :-(

So I asked them if they have or could manufactur a similar door with the same dimensions. I'll post their answer when I get it.

I have no experience with this brand but suggest the following:
1: Remove the door and hinges.
2: Dismantle door by removing the inner liner. The screws to dismantle are usually under the door seal. Try to leave the seal in place on the removed liner.
3: Now access the interior of where the hinge fits.
4: Make up a plate (sheet metal preferably stainless or thick aluminium) to fit over the inside area covering where the hinge anchors to.
5: Rivot this plate into place.
6: Re-fit hinges screwing through into the new interior plate.

Hope this general fix helps... others may be more familiar with your particular brand..

Forgot... there is also an easier, more temporary fix and that is to use 'Toggle Bolts"

We ordered the door from DAV in the netherlands. The company that sold the original fridge-doors to Fountaine Pajot. It turned out it was originally manufactured by a company called Ronda in Italy.

The door fits pretty good. To fit the new frame we had to cut the opening a bit wider, about half a centimeter.

The part number at Vente matériel bar, brasserie et restaurant, tireuse a biere, cave a vin is F2142 and the price was 206,03 euros, plus about 60 Euros shipping to Germany.

We are pretty happy with the result
