Thats interesting.

It explains why this style of catamaran motors to windward.

VMG directly to windward in 12 knots is approximtely 3.5 knots.

VMG (DTW) for a Bendytoy First 40 in 12 knots is approximately 5.75 knots.

try going around the world in company of your wife with bendy 40 or 50 ft motor cat and you will see the light.

Sorry I was commenting on the OP. You seem confused.

If we compare on a costs/or accommodation basis then check out the polars for
a bendytoy 62 maybe
