Parasailor?

I'm considering buying a Parasailor for my Orana ... I know my friends Rick and Barbara have one on theirs, but am curious as to whether others have any experience ...

Cost? How does it get rigged ... looks like two sheets run to the aft blocks usually used for the genaker, and two sheets run to the bow hulls ... how are the four sheets controlled, given Orana's winch set-up?

Thanks/jon

You use the aft lines to trim for the wind direction. You use the down lines to hold the clews more or less in place.

Just as if you would with a regular spinnaker. Not sure why you would use the para on a cat where the sail can be stabilised simply by strapping it down do the hulls. On a mono it is different as they lack beam. Para or not, you would use a pole.

Re: Parasailor?

No Need for a Poole. 4 lines, and full control.
The parasailor is also made out of a lot stronger fabric, than a normal spinnaker is. and they cost more.

Just look at Linocats pictures

To rig the Parasailor

To rig the Parasailor you will attach a stand-up block on each bow of the boat. You will then need two additional lines (we will call these Guys) that run through these blocks.
One sheet and one guy is attached to a snap shackle that is attached to the port corner of the Parasailor and the same on the Starboard side.
The halyard is attached to the top Easysnuffer that has the Parasailor inside it.
The sheets go to a block at the aft side of each hull. That’s it.We recommend that you use the color blue for both guys and one red and one green sheet.
