Re: Our New Baby Just Splashed !

Hey Bob, slight thread hijack. I've been talking to Chris White about his new Atlantic offering, the A47 without dagger boards. He sure knows his stuff, but like many in the industry, has not warmed to the idea of diesel/electric hybrid drive and electric galley.

Re: Our New Baby Just Splashed !

Hightlights from the ~4500 mile delivery:
Left La Rochelle on 20 April. Arrived Annapolis 16 June.
Top speed - 18.5 knots surfing a swell
Best 24 hour run - 185 nm
Fuel consumption : 1 engine @1500 rpm 1.25 ltr/hr at 5 knots - easy seas (30hp volvo with folding 3 bladed props)
Oven makes great bread

Issues encountered:
5 Blown batt cars
Chafe issues on reefing clew
Chafe on furling line
Slight leak in the escape hatches after pounding upwind for 2 days off Hatteras

Not too bad considering the length and duration of the trip.

Re: Our New Baby Just Splashed !

I didn't write it down, but IIRC...it was about 275 hours. They did the 100 hour service on a stopover. I'll have to go through my photos to see if I got the hour meter in one of them.

Re: Our New Baby Just Splashed !

That sounds about right for delivery hours.
We had 250 hours on each engine after our France to Newport RI. Delivery.
Make sure to check the impellers right away as ours needed to be changed.
May want to consider Speedseal covers to make checking and changing yor impellers easier.

Engines
