Can you give reasonably accurate descriptions of the locations please?

What hull numbers are you?

Chuck,

Here is a picture which shows the bowsprit attachment. Looks like two bolts just infront of the chain locker.

Wow. I just noticed I have 2 more hatches on the 2009 that the below picture does not have. Catatude has hatches over the sinks in the two heads.

Are you getting the D1-20 or the D1-30 engines?

Hi Mark,

Were the additional hatches over the sinks in the head an extra?

We have never had a problem with the head seeming damp. We open the escape hatch when we are at anchor and put a reminder flag on the steering wheel so we do not leaving the anchorage with the hatch open.

I do not know if Chuck has made his engine decision yet but an observation if I may.

I thought (indeed I said in a much earlier post) that the 20 hp engines were enough. But ...when we were in 40 knots and a rising sea very close to a lee shore I would have given anything for the 30 hp motors. We held our position and gradually clawed our way to sea but there was a moment or two of concern.

I am hull #27, I think JC is 24 or 25. All the blisters were on the inside of both hulls, but most were on the Starboard side under the salon. As I recall, 2 had water and were about 30 to 50 mm in size, the rest were very small almost like pock marks. Would like to hear from anyone else having similar problems.

Would like to add, I would have opted for the 30 hp engines if they were available when I ordered. I'd rather have the extra power if and when needed, and cruising along at 8 to 8.5 knots isn't bad either.

Just came back from the boat.Most of the blisters are on the inside of the starboard side under the salon.It looks like there never was any primer applied.....It looks like I will be on the ground for a while.I am talking to Philippe about it.I counted 16 blisters.

Thanks for the information and great photos of the bowsprit. Good to know that the "stock" unit wasn't captured in a load-dispersing pocket on the hull. Someone told me that there was significant force in the X direction but it appears that the piece is bolted to the fore beam and hull flange without any other changes. Interesting.....

I did order the boat with the 30-hp engines. Hope they are still sippers as the two I've chartered had 20-hp engines I couldn't beleive how little fuel they used!

The additional hatches over the sinks in the head must be standard. I did not order them. Did not even know about them. See pictures below.
They have frosted lexan, so as to not view into the head area. That makes three new hatchs they added this year. Customers must have stated that they needed more ventilation.
My delivery Captain was pleasantly surprised when he seen that we had the 30 hp. He said they are more responsive and really moves out, even just on one engine. He has delivered 3 Mahes so far and did a great job for us.

Very nice perspective from up the mast! Do all Mahes come with a spinnaker halyard from the factory?

Great news on the added forward hatches for 2009.

Chuck,
The spinnaker halyard must be standard, but a winch would have to be mounted to the winch pad rivited to the lower port side of the mast.

Not sure whether the actual spinnaker halyard is standard but I suspect that the block hanger and the cutouts and top sheave are fitted to the mast (and moused) as standard.

Hi Daniel

I have been away for a few weeks and missed all of the recent traffic on the thread.

Reflexion has moved to a mooring off BYRA (at Bayview) so it is probably her that Daniel saw.
We are still planning to go north approx Aug 1 - when are you going?

We get slipped next week, weather permitting, I will have to ask the guys to check for blisters!

A few other comments regarding questions posted over the last few weeks.

1: I have solved the jib sheet catching on teh mast winch with a simple elastic - I will post a picture as it is hard to explain.

2: My jib halyard parted on teh eye that it is fed through below the sheeve. I have re rigged it without going through this eye and so far it is OK. I have looked at some furler installation instructions on the Pro-furl website and they have mentioned the need to trap the halyard.
