Matte finish caulk for salon floor

Anyone know the type of caulk that FP used to close the seams in the floor of the Helia salon? I would like to caulk the awful dirt magnet gaps around the edges of the salon and hull floors. The important features are non glossy matte finish and easy to work. The attached photo is taken below the nav station and shows the FP caulk and the gap I want to caulk.
Thank you for your help,

Looks like this cruiser is doing the same thing to his floor.

Re: Matte finish caulk for salon floor

Brown or white silicone would seem to be best. Sikaflex would tend to look grubby. This is obviously a FP tradition as also my 1989 Maldives and 2002 Athena had the same problem.

Water tends to get under the edges as well, so I would make sure it is bone dry perhaps by using a dehumidifier first. I use an offcut plastic water pipe of your preferred diameter to form a concave bead. Leave it to tack and then remove excess using a narrow chisel or filling knife

Looks like regular teak chalk, which is sanded after application. Not sure how to pull that off on a finished floor.

Matte finish caulk for salon floor

Helia 44 owners,

The saloon floor edges, stairs and staterooms are not siliconed around the edges and start to accumulate dirt and hair, so we cleaned and filled them in with Brown Dap silicone.

We tried 4 different colors, but they turned out to be to light. The Dark brown was the only one that worked for us.

Very easy to clean after the edges are sealed.

Re: Matte finish caulk for salon floor

Cotemar,
Nice job with your floor joints.
Can you give us some more technique / procedure tips, please? Did you tape the edges? What did you use to get a smooth surface finish? Is the finish shiny or matte?
Thanks in advance,

I used a Caulk Application Tool. Buy 2 as they are only a few dollars each.
I used 2 tubes of dark brown caulking just for the saloon and stairs.
Its matt finish when dry.

1) Put a small bead of Caulk along one section at a time.
2) Use the Caulk Application Tool to make a nice clean bead.
3) Have a small bucket of water and small sponge to clean any excess caulk.
4) Takes 24 hour to fully harden, so put boxes in the walkways or anything that will remind you not to walk on the wet Caulking.
