We are a married couple in our 40s from Yorkshire and are thinking of buying
a second hand Cat to live on from May 2016 in the Med. The Helia is currently at the top of our wish list and would like to experience it first hand.
Our experience is mainly on charter
of mono and 3 different Cats over the last 15 years, 1-2 weeks a year. We did the Arc+ in 2013 on a Outremer
49 and this level-set us from an experience point of view so we would need a lot more miles under our belt before undertaking anything of that magnitude again. It also showed us that we need a boat that is easily sailed by just the 2 of us and pretty straight forward single
handed. The Outremer
, although superb, was not the boat for us!!
So we would like get on board a Helia for a short space of time (1/2 weeks say and this is flexible) to see if she as good as she sounds. I realise we could charter
, and this is also an option, however it would be great to be on board with a skipper
who knows its pro's and con's. Any advise or suggestions would be welcome, we know we will have to travel to & from and more than happy to pay our way.
