To determining how much antifouling paint you will need is fairly simple.
Calculate the bottom area needing paint.
For a rough estimate of the area to be painted,
Multiply the length of your hull (LOA) by the Beam and multiply by 0.85. (LOA x Beam x 0.85 = Area in sq/ft).
Then divide the area by the coverage of the paint you've chosen to determine how many gallons per coat you will need.
Most bottom paints will cover 400+ sq/ft per gallon and manufacturers recommend 2 coats.
Using a FP Helia 44 hull as an example: 44’LOA x 9’Beam x 0.85 = 337 sq/ft per hull
Using this info shows you need 2 gallon per hull for 2 coats. 4 gallons of bottom paint for both hulls.

I was surprised to see yr pics. I believe it's not good idea to cover the boat as you suggested. If there is any wind exceeding 30 kts, this will create some issues. Exposing the boat to occasional sunshine in winter is good both for avoiding humidity and to allow drying the hulls better.
Secondly, when the boat is on hard for wintering, we take out all sails including the main. All sails are washed, rinsed,fold and put inside the boat. The boat and the sails are aerated when weather permitting to avoid mould and yeast inside the boat and the sails. Sometimes, we are also placing humidity absorbing sachets around.

It is interesting to here what is good practice in different areas of the world . At our multihull club in Toronto we obviously have to haul for the winter .We take off the masts and in my case I had the sailmaker create a frame and cover that goes right down to the waterline, we then lace it under the hull very tightly it also gets tied around the bows .Our cover is dark to encourage snow melt( 4 inches yesterday)keeping the ice off the deck and out of the scuppers is really good for the boat . Our cover would not be right for your area and yours would only last a month here as the winter storms can blow 30 knots for longer periods than in the summer. I Grenada I had a big sunshade made for summer storage ,different place different solution
I agree, its all about LOCATION for the different winter covers that are needed.
Our last cover like this lasted over 7 years and was still in great shape when we sold it with our FP Mahe 36. It had gone through 2 hurricanes (Irene & Sandy).
We one of these winter covers for the 5 years that we had owned our Catalina 380 also.
We have been getting very heavy snow here for the last few years. Sometimes 4 feet of heavy wet snow in one storm. That is far to much snow to have on a 44 x 24 foot boat.
Most people here have had to shovel off their home roofs and a lot of homes and commercial building roofs have caved in under the Snow Load.
With this type of winter cover most of the snow and ice just slides off the sides of the boat.

Hi all
I've just done our first haul out for winter in Preveza (Greece) and noticed that the forward strap is positioned right over the speed paddle wheeltransducer. The spot is the recommend position from FP. I've checked the paddle wheelon the hard and it seems to still spin fine, just interested if this has caused problems for anyone?

Fly the Coop and all, I'm making a gross assumption that your paddlewheel speedo set up is that same that I have on our Orana...it removes easily and I have a factory supplied blank plug to put in its place. I'd recommend you remove it before getting lifted as it's just got a plastic housing to protect it.
I actually remove ours in the water if we sit more that five days in one place due to critters making a home in the recesses - this makes a huge difference in your readings. Easy enough to do, with a small vacuum and some rags you don't get a lot of water intrusion during the swap.
Just remember to put it back in before getting underway!

Cotemar et al, Port Canaveral Marine next to Ocean Club Marina in Port Canaveral Florida has a 110ton Travelift, a 30’ beam capacity and regularly includes catamaran haul outs. Full marine services though I don’t believe riggers are onsite.
