General Info

Hi can anyone recommend a good source for info on Athena 38s?
They sound like a good balance of the requirements that I have for a family coastal cruising cat.
Mainly want to know what are the different models?
Which ones have the taller rig and are there any build quality issues on any or all years of production?

Athena 38.

Hi Dragon Lady,
Call Richard at Multihull Solutions in Mooloolaba 0754525164 as they are the FP importers and also sell pre-owned boats ie. Athena etc.
Regards Gordon.

Thanks Gordon, I've been in contact with Richard via email, he was very helpful though the mystery of the different rig heights remain so I'm putting that down to an urban myth.

Whatching the O/S Athena market with great interest, prices are falling and the dollar's still rising so it's looking very good at the moment.

Re: In General

Does anyone know the make and model of the Athena saloon ceiling lights? They are low profile circular white plastic with annular slots, G4 halogen bulbs (being converted to LED).
I need some more to match and extend the coverage in the saloon

Re: In General

Hi Dragon lady,

Wed have three of them in our fleet. They are extremely good sailor and solid boats. The owner of one or two of them are willing to sell it to buy a new boat. If you are interested PM me.

Cheers

Re: Athena 38's General Info?

Hi Dragon Lady,

I knew you had a Lavezzi, but you asked for a source and I answered
Of course Lavezzi's are better but I have a lot of respect for Athena's..

Cheers

Re: Athena 38's General Info?

I'm half looking at Athenas but have never actually seen one let alone been inside one, they are just not so common here. I'm wondering about the headroom they provide. I've read on the net some pages quoting max headroom 6' and others quoting 6'4 I'm around 6'1. The other things that annoy me are they are quoting max headroom, more useful would be headroom at galley, shower, cabins, lowest headroom above saloon floorspace etc.

Would I have to hunch over walking from one side of the saloon to the other? I guess I just need to go and look at one - but hearing from others would be a bonus.

Thanks
